Good cross country running shoes?

So im doing xc and I have Nike frees right now but the sole is kind of wide so I don't want to run races in them. I'm looking for a shoe that's light and thin on the foot any suggestions? Thanks!
It is very important to invest in a good pair of running shoes for Cross Country training. If not, you will run more risk of injury. I recommend Asics because they provide very good support, especially in the heel, compared to other brands. Nike usually is one of the least supportive running shoe brands because they emphasize "barefoot" or "free" running, which allows your foot to mimic running without any shoes on.
If you want to compare some of the newest running shoes, go to RunnersWorld.com, click on Videos, then Shoes and Gear, and an expert will explain what is good/bad about different shoes.
Also, remember to replace your shoes at least every 500 miles because the inner support wears down.
go to a running store and they'll determine which shoe is fit for you based on foot type and gait analysis. they carry a bunch of different brands. i'm in xc too =] have a good season
