Good running shoes? Run about 5 miles a day on treadmill and pavement?

I now have nike shox which give me HORRIBLE shin splints. I know running shoes are on an individual basis but I was just looking for some info on what shoes most people like to run in under the same or similar conditions that I do. Any input is greatly appreciated!
If i were you i would go to your local running store and try on many different kinds of shoes. Everyone has there own kind they like so you have to find the one that fits your needs the most. Personally I'm a fan of mizuno and have worn mizuno for along time and wouldn't switch. But once again it depends on what you like. I would avoid nike and adidas because they are not know for there running shoes. Try mizuno, asics, brooks those are all good brands. but if you like a nike or an adidas go with just make sure it's a running shoe. Because if it's not your more likely to injure yourself if you wear a basketball shoe our something like that and they are also heavier and make you run slower.
I started running with Nike Shox because I liked the look of them. But now that I have worn nicer shoes, I know that Nike Shox aren't for people like you who put in a good amount of mileage.

I mainly run on pavement and occasionally run on the treadmill. I wear Brooks Adrenaline 8's. Mainly, any nicer running shoe is going to be good for pavement and treadmills. Here are some top brand running shoes that come to mind: Brooks, Asics, Saucony, and New Balance. You can also find good Nikes.

Next time you go to the store, look for shoes labeled running. But, if you can, go to a specialty running store where they can fit you and tell you what shoe will work best. **** luck.
Don't ever by the Nike Shox for running. Why?

They are NOT made for running! No matter what the person in the store tells you, or how cool they look, they are not made for running. Yeah they look cool with the like shock things in the back, but they are not for running; at all.

Good shoes? Brooks GTS 8; Asics GT-2130; Mizuno Waveriders.

BTW, this is a horrible question. You are not going to change your running shoes based on where you run, so there is no point asking people. If you know that shoes are based on individul, then I really think you need to find the right shoe for you, not for your conditions.
The type of running shoes you should get depends on your foots arch and pronation. There are three types of feet arches: high arch, neutral arch, and flat footed. The type of your arch depends on what type of shoe you should get. For more info goto
I dont run myself but my sister got terrible shin splints from her nikes shoes that were a little to small, now she has asics 2130 in her size =]. they are great she says! hope i could have been of help! good luck!
Asics and New Balance are really good running shoes. I've run cross country for four years and i've always gotten Asics. They're really comfortable. Our coach always told us to never get Nikes (and he works for nike lol).
