I have a 90% nylon/ 10 % spandex Nike fitness shirt that was washed at a friends house with a perfumed detergent and fabric softener, and now I can't get that smell out of the shirt. I am very fragrance sensitive and can't wear it with that smell! It is currently hanging outside!
I've washed it a couple of times with my usual unscented detergent and no fabric softener, the last time with white vinegar in the wash water . It still reeks.
